Let’s Be Honest, You’re Here For The Bacon

Anything wrapped in bacon is always the first thing to disappear at a party. It’s just a universal truth.

My popular Bacon-Wrapped Water Chestnuts have been a top 10 recipe on my site for two years now, but they may have some competition. These Bacon Parmesan Crackers are so addictive, they just might steal the spotlight.

These crackers are the perfect little bites to welcome guests or treat your family to a fun, irresistible snack. The combination of buttery Parmesan crackers and slow-baked bacon creates an aroma that fills your kitchen in the best possible way.

They’re effortless enough for last-minute gatherings, yet impressive enough to make a big statement on the appetizer table. You’ll feel proud and confident showing up with these unforgettable, crowd-pleasing bites.

Just 3 Ingredients

The image below has four ingredients but the fresh thyme is not essential for this recipe. It only offers a pop of color and festiveness.

  • Bacon– Thick cut bacon works well here and won’t disintegrate in the oven while the crackers bake.
  • Parmesan cheese– Use freshly grated parm for the best flavor.
  • Crackers- Classic buttery club crackers are the perfect size and have a light crisp texture.

How To Make Bacon Wrapped Parmesan Crackers

  • Start by slicing your bacon in thirds and heat oven to 350℉.
  • Next lay crackers out on a sheet pan lined with foil and a baking rack, then sprinkle each cracker with parmesan and wrap with a bacon piece.
  • Place assemble crackers in the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes or until bacon and crackers are a deep golden brown and crisp. Allow to cool for a few minutes then plate up and serve.

Helpful Questions

Can I use thin bacon?
Yes, although depending on the brand sometimes the bacon can disintegrate from the long baking time. You want crisp, chewy bacon with the end result.

Can I use different cheese?
Yes, Asiago, Romano, or classic gouda works beautifully.

Which crackers work best?
Any sturdy butter cracker; avoid ones that crumble easily. I have not tested this recipe with gluten-free crackers.

Variations To Try

If you’d like to experiment and try a slightly different variation, try these combonations:

  • Sweet & Savory: add brown sugar or brush with maple syrup after you wrap with bacon pieces.
  • Spicy: sprinkle cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes over the cheese.
  • Herby: add rosemary or Italian seasoning — I like the flecks of fresh thyme for a festive look.
  • Smoky: add more smoky flavor and use a light sprinkle of smoked paprika over the bacon.

Fun Serving Suggestions

Here are a few ideas for serving these crackers if you’re hosting an event or maybe want to bring something a little extra alongside the crackers.

Dips

  • Ranch dip (our personal fav)
  • Honey mustard
  • Pepper jelly or hot honey (excellent sweet-salty contrast)

Beverages

Presentation Ideas

  • Serve on a wooden board with olives and nuts
  • Add to a holiday snack platter
  • Pair with a cheese board for a savory-sweet balance

Storing and Freezing

Crackers can be enjoyed at room temperature for 2-3 hours. If you have any leftover, place in a sealed bag and store in the refrigerator up to 4 days or freeze up to 1 month. If freezing, you’ll want to thaw at room temperature, then reheat in the oven on a sheet pan at 350℉ for 5-8 minutes just until hot and crisp.

  • 34 butter crackers such as the Club original

Notes

Thin bacon can be used but keep in mind that depending on the brand it may not hold up well with the longer baking time and can disintegrate.
It’s normal when the bacon and crackers are a deep golden brown. Not burnt but nice and toasty.
