Chicken Apple Sausage Sheet Pan Meal

This quick and easy Sheet Pan Meal using chicken apple sausage, potatoes, bell peppers, onions, and pantry seasonings. A family friendly supper perfect for busy weeknights or a cozy night in.

One of my favorite meals growing up was smoked sausage and onions. My mom would make a big pan and serve it with baked or mashed potatoes. I was always drawn right to the kitchen when the sausage and onions hit the skillet.
My Chicken Apple Sausage Sheet Pan Meal is a wonderful reminder of my childhood, and my family loves the flavors of this one-pan-supper. It has everything to complete a healthy nutritious dinner, and with the busy fall season ahead of us, this will definitely be on my rotation list.
Ingredients For Chicken Apple Sausage Sheet Pan Meal:
- Chicken apple sausage links (my favorite brand is Aidells) or your favorite smoked sausage, sliced in coins
- Bell peppers (red, yellow, or orange) cut in 2-inch pieces
- Onion sliced in 1-inch pieces
- Yukon or red baby potatoes, cut in quarters
- Fresh parsley
Seasonings For Chicken Apple Sausage Sheet Pan Meal:
- Salt and pepper
- Garlic powder
- Italian seasoning
- Smoked paprika
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Olive oil
The seasonings are simple yet add lots of flavor to this Sheet Pan Meal. Other spices and seasonings that work great are onion powder, dried thyme, chili powder, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, and Mrs. Dash seasonings.

How To Make Chicken Apple Sausage Sheet Pan Meal:
- Preheat oven to 425℉ and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper or foil.
- In a large bowl combine prepared sausage and veggies with olive oil and seasonings.
- Add mixture to the prepared sheet pan in an even layer.

4. Place in preheated oven and roast for 40-minutes turning halfway through the cooking time.
5. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve.

Tip:
To get those dark charred bits you may need to place under the broiler after the cooking time for 1-2 minutes. My oven type at 425℉ for exactly 40-minutes gives it the perfect amount of caramelization. Each oven is different so use your best judgment.
What to serve with Chicken Apple Sausage Sheet Pan Meal?
We find this to be a satisfying meal on its own, however, a simple green salad, or slices of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers would be perfect on the side.
Can I use Other Veggies?
Definitely! Just keep in mind that all veggies cook differently. For instance- if you wanted to use broccoli or zucchini, add it the last 20-minutes of cooking time rather than the full 40-minutes. The softer the veggie, the less time it will take to cook. See recipe notes for vegetable options and cooking times.

This was such a delicious combination and one of the easiest recipes I’ve made. My family loved it and the left overs warmed up with some scrambled eggs, cheese and sliced cherry tomatoes was awesome as well!! I’ll definitely make it again..❤️PS. Cleanup was quick !
Thank you for leaving a comment! I will definitely make breakfast with the leftovers next time. Sounds great!
This was excellent, and so fast and easy! The ibly thing I would change is to reduce the black pepper–1 tsp was quite spicy!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! My family loves black pepper (especially my hubby) so I usually add a bit more. I will definitely modify in the recipe notes. Thank you for the kind review!
I’m a sheet pan-aholic though I’ve never tried this particular sausage until now. Fabulous!!!! I typically use smoked sausage, kielbasa, etc but my daughter told me she loves this sausage so I grabbed a few pkgs and then said to myself, ‘now to find a recipe for them!’ Sheet pan was a no brainer so I thank you and commend you!!! Yum!!!!!! 🙂 👏👏👏👏👏
