Crockpot Chocolate Peanut Clusters

Crockpot Chocolate Peanut Clusters

Crockpot Chocolate Peanut Clusters are an effortless, no-bake candy made in the slow cooker. They are sweet, salty, and perfect for the holidays and gifts.

Easy Crockpot Chocolate Peanut Clusters

Crockpot chocolate peanut clusters are one of the easiest slow cooker candy recipes you’ll ever make. No candy thermometer, no baking, and minimal effort. Every bite is rich, salty, crunchy — even my daughter who doesn’t enjoy peanuts loves these clusters.

If you’re like me, you sometimes need a last-minute idea for a party, or maybe you want to share a sweet treat with your friends or neighbors during the holidays. This recipe checks all the boxes for ease and great taste. Simply add everything to the slow cooker, let it melt together, and scoop out perfectly portioned clusters that look like you spent far more time on them than you actually did.

Ingredients You Need

  • Roasted peanuts– I use lightly salted roasted peanuts.
  • Chocolate– Make sure to use quality chocolate chips or melting wafers for the best flavor. Using a variety of chocolate also gives the clusters depth and richness.
  • Almond extract– This is optional but adds a special touch.
  • Sea salt to sprinkle over the top.
Ingredients for crockpot chocolate peanut clusters. Roasted and lightly salted peanuts, milk, dark, and white chocolate melting wafers, and almond extract.

Hot Tip

  • Using melting wafers gives the clusters a shiny, glossy finish that I think looks beautiful and festive for sharing as a gift. Ghirardelli is also a great option because the chocolate is rich and has a great quality taste.

How To Make Chocolate Peanut Clusters

  • Combine all the ingredients in a large slow cooker. Cook on low for 2 hours stirring 2-3 times until the chocolate is fully melted.
  • Cover two sheet pans with parchment paper and use a small cookie scoop to portion out clusters on prepared pans.
  • Add a touch of sea salt or use festive sprinkle to the top of each cluster.
  • Allow clusters time to set and harden, about 1-2 hours at room temperature or you can place them in the fridge.

Helpful Tips For The Perfect Peanut Clusters

  • Always use LOW heat to prevent scorching the chocolate.
  • Stir occasionally to keep peanuts evenly coated.
  • If chocolate thickens during the cooking, give it a good stir and it should loosen a bit and become creamy.
  • A cookie scoop helps make evenly sized clusters.

Variations and Flavor Ideas

Make these crockpot chocolate peanut clusters your own with these easy variations:

  • Peanut Butter Flavor: Add in peanut butter baking chips for a rich peanut butter flavor.
  • Butterscotch Peanut Clusters: Replace half the chocolate chips with butterscotch chips.
  • Mixed Nut Clusters: Add almonds, cashews, or pecans.
  • Holiday Sprinkle Clusters: Top with festive sprinkles before setting.
  • Salted Caramel Version: Drizzle with caramel and sprinkle with sea salt.

How Long Do Crockpot Clusters Stay Fresh

These clusters stay fresh at room temperature up to 1 week in an airtight container, or place in the refrigerator up to 3 weeks, or freezer up to 3 months.

Notes

Do not slow cook the peanuts and chocoalte on high as it may scorch the chocolate.
Store clusters in an airtight container with parchment paper between layers.
Use baking chips instead of melting wafers.
If the chocolate thickens too much during the cooking time, give it a thorough stir. The heat and movement will help it loosen and become smooth and creamy again.
