Watch Me Make Greek Layered Dip In This Video
I tested this dip over the holiday break, and my family absolutely devoured it. They loved it so much that my daughter even made a batch to take back to college and keep in her mini fridge.
The flavors strike the perfect balance-tangy, salty, and refreshing all at once. We love serving it with a sturdy cracker like naan crackers or pita chips, but it's just as delicious paired with fresh veggies such as carrot sticks and cucumber slices.

Ingredients You Need For Greek Layered Dip
This recipe uses a short-cut with store-bought hummus and tzatziki but feel free to use your favorite homemade version. My Greek Yogurt Lemon Dill Dip would be a great stand-in for the tzatziki.
- Hummus- Original style hummus works great for this recipe and offers the right balance of flavors but feel free to explore with other varieties.
- Tzatziki- If you've never had tzatziki, it's a light and refreshing cucumber base sauce. It really complements the hummus and fresh toppings.
- Toppings- Red onion, sweet tomatoes, cucumbers, Kalamata olives, feta cheese, fresh dill and parsley.
- Olive oil offers a nice silky finish.

How To Layer Greek Dip
- Spread hummus in the bottom of a shallow dish all the way to the edges, then add a layer of tzatziki and sprinkle on red onion.

- Finish toppings with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, feta cheese, herbs, then drizzle the top lightly with olive oil.

Important Tip
Salt and pepper aren't necessary for this dish, as the hummus and tzatziki are already well seasoned, and the olives and feta add plenty of natural saltiness. Additionally, salting the cucumbers and tomatoes will cause them to release excess moisture, which can water down the dip.

Ang's Suggestions For The Perfect Greek Dip
- Chop ingredients fine- Be sure to finely chop the cucumbers, tomatoes, and olives so each scoop of dip has the perfect balance of flavors and textures.
- Make ahead- If preparing this dip more than 4 hours ahead of time, assemble the hummus and tzatziki layers first and wait to add the fresh toppings until just before serving. As they sit, cucumbers and tomatoes can release moisture and water down the dip.
- For the best flavor and texture, keep the dip refrigerated until ready to serve.
- Leftovers- Stir leftovers together and enjoy as a spread or sandwich filling.
Fun Ways To Serve This Dip
- Crackers-Serve with pita chips, naan, or simple butter crackers.
- Veggies-Pair with fresh veggies like bell peppers, cucumbers, and carrots (cucumbers are the best).
- Condiment-Spoon leftovers into wraps or grain bowls.
- Sharing-Bring it to potlucks, game day events, or casual parties. This dip travels well and will disappear fast.
