English Muffin Garlic Bread
Just 5-simple ingredients transforms plain English Muffins into buttery garlic toast. An irresistible snack, appetizer, or side dish with your favorite pasta.
What You’ll Love About English Muffin Garlic Bread:
- Easy to make in under 10-minutes
- Delicious garlic butter flavor
- A simple appetizer or side everyone will love
I haven’t met a person yet who doesn’t love toasted bread with garlic butter. Even better when you can use English muffins and bypass slicing a large loaf of bread. It doesn’t get any easier than splitting the muffins in half and smearing the top with a little (or a lot) of garlicky, buttery goodness.
My favorite thing about using English muffins is the edges get nice and toasty while the center maintains a soft, chewy texture. The nooks and cranny’s capture all that butter flavor so each bite is heavenly.
English Muffin Pizzas are another great option when you want a quick and easy meal and craving yummy Italian flavors.
Simple Ingredients:
- English Muffins– This can be any brand or flavor you love. I like to buy the extra crispy kind for best results.
- Fresh garlic- You will use the fresh garlic to rub on the warm toasted muffins.
- Butter– I use salted butter.
- Parmesan cheese– Grated parmesan will melt the best on the garlic toast.
- Fresh parsley– This is mainly for color. You can also use dried parsley if you don’t have fresh on hand.
- Red pasta sauce– The perfect sauce for dunking toasted English muffin garlic bread.
Recipe Tips:
- For a stronger garlic flavor, mince the garlic cloves and add to the butter mixture.
- For the best texture make sure to pre-toast English muffins in a toaster before adding the butter and broiling them.
- You’ll want the butter to be super soft so it spreads easily on the toasted muffins.
- Set out other dipping sauces like alfredo or pesto.
How To Make English Muffin Garlic Bread:
Step One. Set broiler to high while you get the ingredients prepared. Also line a sheet pan with foil for easy clean-up.
Step Two. Split each muffin in half and toast in the toaster until light golden brown. Slice garlic cloves in half and while muffins are still warm, rub the cut side of the garlic clove on the muffins. It should have a fragrant garlic smell.
Step Three. In a small bowl combine butter, 1 tbsp parmesan cheese, and parsley. Spread about 1 tsp of butter mixture on garlic rubbed muffins. Sprinkle the top with remaining parmesan. Broil on prepared sheet pan for 3-5 minutes or until deep golden brown. Serve right away with or without dipping sauce.
Common Questions:
Broiling the English muffins will only brown the tops and edges. To make sure the muffins have a well balanced texture it’s best to toast them first.
Absolutely! While the potency and flavor will be slightly different, you can definitely use garlic powder or salt in a pinch.
For leftovers, place muffins from the refrigerator on a sheet pan and bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes at 350℉ or until warmed through and crisp.
