Guacamole Dip with Feta

Elevate your guacamole dip with a creamy twist-this unique dip combines ripe avocados with tangy feta cheese for a bold, flavorful upgrade to the classic recipe. Make this dip and your guests will be scraping the bowl clean.

Holy Guacamole! Is That Feta?

Welcome to the bold new world of guacamole with feta cheese-where creamy meets tangy, and your tortilla chips will never be the same. This is one of those dips you show up to a party with and everyone is puzzled trying to figure out why it's so good. You can keep the secret or not, it's up to you.

Why Feta Cheese In Guacamole?

Traditional guacamole is delicious-no arguments there, but if you're looking to bump up your dip game, feta cheese brings something special to the bowl. This guac has a creamy texture without feeling heavy. The salty-tangy kick from the feta balances the avocado's richness and adds a hint of Mediterranean flair-all while staying super easy to make.

Ingredients For Guacamole Feta Dip

Here's what you'll need for this simple guac dip. Full measurements are in the recipe card below.

Ingredients set out for guacamole dip with feta. Avocado, lime juice and zest, red onion, cilantro, feta cheese, and seasonings.

Avocado- You'll need 4 large ripe avocados.

Lime- We will be using the zest of one lime along with the juice.

Red onion- Just a touch of onion flavor--only 1 tablespoon.

Cilantro- A classic guac ingredient but if you don't like cilantro just use parsley.

Seasonings- Ground cumin for a hint of smokiness, cayenne pepper for touch of heat, salt and pepper.

Feta cheese- My favorite feta is Israeli feta. It's super creamy and has a mild taste, however you can use any feta you like.

Optional Add-Ins For Even More Flavor and Fun

Toss in any one of these ingredients for more fun and excitement.

  • Fresh chopped tomatoes
  • Minced garlic
  • Diced jalapenos
  • Chopped olives
  • Diced cucumber

How To Make Guacamole Dip With Feta

Seriously, you can have this ready to shovel in your mouth in 10-minutes--so fast and easy! Find the full detailed instructions in the recipe card below.

  • Mash avocados- In a medium bowl mash avocados roughly with a fork.
  • Add lime zest and juice- While the avocados are still chunky add in lime zest and juice. Continue to mash for the consistency you like.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients- Use a spoon to stir in seasonings, cilantro, onion, and finally feta cheese. Top with more feta and fresh cilantro. Serve immediately.

Important Tips For The Perfect Guacamole

Use ripe avocados: They should yield slightly to pressure-not too soft, not too firm, and can easily mash with a fork.

Don't overmix the guac: Keep some texture! Smooth + Chunky = best of both worlds.

Serve immediately: Guacamole waits for no one. If you must store it, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to slow browning.

So Many Ways To Use Guacamole Feta Dip

Serve this guacamole with classic tortilla chips (because, hello) or mix things up with pita chips or potato chips--my personal favorite. For a lighter option that is also low-carb friendly, serve with veggie sticks like carrots, cucumbers, or mini bell peppers work perfectly for scooping. You can also use this dip to spread on wraps, sandwiches, toast, or add a scoop to burrito bowls or tacos. Endless possibilities!

Equipment

  • 1 medium bowl

Ingredients

  • 4 large, ripe avocados
  • 1 small lime or lemon, zested and juiced
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon red onion, diced fine
  • cup feta cheese, crumbled

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, use a large fork or spoon to mash 4 avocados roughly. You still want it to be chunky.
  • Add lime zest from 1 small lime and also the juice. Continue to mash until it's the consistency you like. I prefer mine on the chunkier side.
  • Use a spoon to stir in ¼ tsp cumin, ¼ tsp cayenne pepper, ¾ tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper, ¼ cup cilantro, and 1 tablespoon red onion.
  • Finally fold in ⅓ cup crumbled feta cheese. Garnish the top with more feta and cilantro if desired and it's ready to serve.

Notes

🥑Guacamole can be enjoyed leftover up to 2 days. Make sure it's in a sealed container with plastic wrap pressed up against the guac. The top will brown so just use a spoon to skim off the top layer and find the bright green goodness underneath.
🍋Make sure to use fresh lime or lemon juice not the bottled stuff. If you're going to the effort in purchasing avocados (which are not cheap) also purchase fresh limes or lemons for the freshest flavor.
