- Creamy and flavorful
- A healthy snack to fill up on
- Makes a great party dip
- Tons of nutrients including fiber and protein
- Make-ahead and enjoy for a few days
I haven’t met very many people that don’t like fresh guacamole. Guac is one of those crowd pleasers that’s as simple as it is satisfying.
This recipe was inspired by my friend, Sarah, who shared her Yogi Guacamole in her cookbook Peas and Thank You.
Her recipe incorporated creamy white beans for additional fiber, yet still maintaining the fresh flavors we love in guacamole.
The Benefits Of Cottage Cheese
I am a huge fan of cottage cheese, I could eat it straight out of the tub, but not everyone shares the same love. If you knew the benefits maybe you would have a change of heart and sneak it in recipes like this guacamole to enjoy all it has to offer.
Cottage cheese not only is high in protein (about 13 grams per 1/2 cup) it has loads of other benefits like–low in calories, rich in B vitamins, good source of calcium, some contain probiotics, and it’s super versatile thanks to the mild taste.
A Dip That Will fuel Your Body
This dip is a powerhouse of nutrients that will fuel and energize your body. Avocados are known for their healthy fats and high potassium, while the beans and cottage cheese offer fiber, protein, and so much more. This means you can snack with ease, fill up, and feel so good about what you’re enjoying.
Key Ingredients

Full ingredients in the recipe card below.
- Avocado- You’ll want to use fresh ripe avocados.
- Beans- White navy beans offer a creamy texture along with extra fiber and protein.
- Cottage cheese- This also adds a boost of protein and creaminess.
- Onions
- Garlic
- Lemon juice- A squeeze of lemon juice adds a burst of bright flavor.
- Seasonings- Ground cumin, salt and pepper.
- Herbs– Cilantro is a classic guacamole ingredient but you can also use parsley.
Substitutions and Additions
- Swap out the cottage cheese for full-fat Greek yogurt. The yogurt will make it slightly tangier.

- Stir in a scoop of salsa or fresh tomatoes for a bright, fresh flavor.
One-Simple-Step
- Add all the ingredients to a high powered food processor and blend until smooth.

Serving Suggestions
Serve this dip with an assortment of veggies like, carrot sticks, cucumbers, and mini peppers. You’ll also love this dip with tortillas chips or rice crackers. It makes a healthy spread for wraps or sandwiches, or use as a condiment for burrito bowls.
Tips
- đź’ˇKeep the guac dip from turning brown. Add a layer of plastic wrap against the surface of the dip and cover tightly with a lid to prevent browning.
- đź’ˇIf a thin brown layer forms- You can use a spoon to scrape off the top layer. You’ll find the green guac underneath.
Common Questions
No. You can’t taste the cottage cheese nor is there any texture. The cottage cheese is blended with the other ingredients only offering creaminess and nutrition.
