Next to my moms tater tot casserole, these wings have been a family favorite for many years. I remember my besties mom making a batch of these Lemon Soy Glaze Wings one Friday night and we literally cleared the pan. They became one of my favorite ways to enjoy wings. So much so, my husband and I even served these at our wedding. They were a total hit and everyone loved them!

The sauce for this recipe is so good you can even turn this into a meal. Swap out the wings for chicken thighs or breasts, and serve with a side of rice or mashed potatoes. Make sure to double the sauce because you’ll want to pour it over everything!

The magic is in the sauce so however you choose to serve it up, we hope you enjoy!

Let’s eat!🤍

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chicken wings frozen chicken pieces work as well
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice, about 2 large lemons
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat oven to 450°F

  • Place chicken wings on large rimmed baking sheet lined with foil, or 9×13-inch baking dish. Spray both sides of wings with non-stick cooking spray. Place in oven and bake for 20 minutes flipping once half way through.
  • Combine the next 9 ingredients in a medium sauce pan and stir until smooth. Bring to a boil on medium high heat and whisk constantly until thicken, about 3 minutes. You want the sauce to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Remove the pan of chicken from the oven and pour sauce evenly over chicken, reserving 1/4 cup of sauce for later. Place chicken back in oven, turn heat down to 425°F, and bake for 30 minutes, flipping once. The wings should be golden brown in spots and the sauce thick and sticky. Remove from oven and pour over remaining 1/4 cup sauce.

Notes

Chicken- Wings can easily be swapped out for boneless skinless chicken thighs or even chicken breasts. Reduce cooking time down by 10 minutes during the first round of baking. Proceed with cooking instructions.

Sauce- We love to double the sauce if we are serving the chicken as the main meal. It’s delicious over rice and mashed potatoes.
