Simple Ingredients:

  • Cooked chicken– For this recipe I use slow cooker chicken breast.
  • Whipped cream cheese– I use whipped cream cheese because it has a light consistency.
  • Mayo– Offers flavor and creaminess.
  • Sour cream– This gives it a nice tang.
  • Cooked Bacon- Do I even need to explain why we add bacon? 🙂 Crispy, salty, and delicious!
  • Fresh jalapeno- This adds a nice fresh jalapeno flavor and crunch.
  • Green onion- I only use one green onion for a subtle bite.
  • Sharp cheddar cheese– The sharp cheddar makes this dip extra rich.
  • Pickled jalapeno or pepperoncini juice from a jar– While this is optional it does add great flavor.
  • Seasonings– Ranch seasoning mix, salt, and pepper.

RECIPE TIP:

Use a store-bought rotisserie chicken for an even faster chicken salad dip.

Common Questions:

Can I make this chicken salad dip hot?

I haven’t actually tried this warmed up but I’m sure it would work fine heated in the oven or microwave.

What can I use instead of mayo?

You can certainly swap out the mayo for full-fat Greek yogurt. Just know the flavor will be a bit tangier.

Can I make this dip ahead of time?

Absolutely! Make dip up to 24-hours ahead of time. I would reserve the bacon and stir in right before serving.

How long does chicken salad dip last?

This dip will stay fresh for 3-4 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

What if my dip is too thick?

If the mixture is too thick, you can add more mayo, sour cream, or pepperoncini or jalapeno juice from a jar to thin it out.
