Looking for a quick, no-bake dessert that wows with minimal effort? This 3-ingredient Oreo icebox cake is a crowd-pleasing treat that’s perfect for summer parties, birthdays, or anytime you’re craving something sweet and easy.
I discovered this simple recipe from Cookies and Cups. Aside from my Oreo addiction, I was mostly excited that with just a handful of ingredients, this could be whipped up in minutes. The taste is rich and creamy, it’s impressive, and no one would ever guess how incredibly easy it is to make.
3-Ingredient Oreo Cake
This recipe makes a huge 9×13 baking dish so you’ll need plenty of Oreos and Cool Whip.

- Oreos- You’ll need two family size regular stuffed Oreo packages for this recipe.
- Whipped cream– Make sure to use Cool Whip from the tub not canned whipped cream.
- Milk– You’ll need milk to help soften the cookies before layering in your baking dish.
Recipe Variations
You can really have fun with this recipe and add different types of cookies, toppings, and spreads. Here are a few ideas that might spark your taste buds:
- Different flavored Oreos- Try using the many different flavors Oreo has to offer. Birthday cake, peanut butter, red velvet, etc..
- Fun toppings- Mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or your favorite candy bar.
- Simple spreads- Add creamy peanut butter, Nutella, or cream cheese frosting.
Easy Steps For Oreo Icebox Cake
Set out your milk, Oreos, and make sure your cool whip topping is completely thawed. This requires 3 layers of cookies and whipped cream.
Step 1. Dip the Oreos individually in milk for 2-3 seconds then place in the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Repeat with Oreos and milk until the bottom of the dish is covered, about 28-30 cookies.
Step 2. Spread 1 tub of cool whip topping evenly over Oreos.
Step 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2, with the final layer being cool whip and crushed cookies.
Step 4. Cover tightly and chill for several hours or overnight.

Equipment
- 1 9×13-inch baking dish for cake
- 1 12 ounce glass for milk
Ingredients
- 90 Oreo's about 2 family size regular Oreo's
- 3 8 ounce containers of thawed cool whip
- 1 1/2 cups milk we use 2%
Instructions
- Dip 1 individual Oreo into milk for 2-3 seconds, making sure to completely submerge the cookie. Place in the bottom of your baking dish and repeat with Oreo's and milk until the bottom of the dish is covered, about 30 Oreo's.
- Spread 1 tub of cool whip evenly over Oreo's, then repeat with two more layers of dipped Oreo's and cool whip topping, with the final layer being cool whip. Sprinkle the top with a few crushed cookies or other toppings you would enjoy.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil or a fitted lid and chill in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours or overnight. Cut into squares and enjoy.
Notes
- Fridge: Keeps for 4-5 days in an airtight container.
- Freezer: Freeze for up to 1 month. Make sure to cover tightly with two layers of foil. Let thaw slightly before serving for a frozen Oreo cake twist, or thaw completely and enjoy.
