Some recipes come from hours of testing in the kitchen, and others come from a text message from your best friend telling you, you have to make these.
This burger was a creation from my best friend, Megs. I've shared several of her recipes here on the site, including Baked Salmon with Sweet Spiced Rub and the latest creation No Fold Chicken Dumplings.
When she texted me after making these burgers for her family, she told me they were the best burgers she'd ever made. She sent me the recipe right away, and of course, I had to make them. After testing them myself, I completely agreed.
The beauty of these Ranch Burgers is how simple they are. The ground beef is mixed with ranch seasoning and black pepper, then cooked until juicy and perfect, then topped with melty pepper jack cheese and fresh arugula.
The finishing touch is a quick, creamy sauce made with mayonnaise, ranch dressing, and peperoncini peppers, you'll want to slather on generously. Everything gets tucked into a toasted bun, and oh man. You'll love every delicious bite!

What You Need
- Ground beef- Make sure to use 80/20 ground beef for the best flavor. A little extra fat ensures juicy, flavorful burgers.
- Ranch mix is sprinkled in the ground beef for a boost of ranch flavor.
- Ground black pepper
- Creamy sauce- mayo, ranch dressing, pepperoncini peppers
- Pepper Jack cheese or your favorite melty cheese.
- Baby arugula
- Burger buns

How To Make Ranch Burgers
- Place ground beef, ranch mix, and black pepper in a mixing bowl. Combine and shape into 4 balls.

- Use a burger press to shape patties about Β½ inch thick.

- In a small bowl combine mayo, ranch dressing, and pepperoncinis. Place in the refrigerator until you're ready to assemble the burgers.

- Cook patties in a hot skillet or on the grill until desired doneness and top with cheese to melt.

- Assemble burgers by adding a generous layer of creamy sauce to both sides of your toasted buns. Place a cooked patty on the bottom bun, then top with arugula.

Ang's Helpful Tips
- Don't overmix the beef. Gently combine the ground beef with the ranch seasoning and black pepper. Overworking the meat can result in a dense burger.
- Don't skip toasting the buns. A lightly toasted bun adds texture and keeps the sauce from making the bread soggy.
Make The Patties Ahead Of Time
Form the patties earlier in the day, cover them, and refrigerate until you're ready to cook. This makes them especially convenient when you're serving burgers for a gathering or getting dinner ready on a busy night.

- 3 tablespoon ranch dressing
- 3 tablespoon mayo
- ΒΌ cup pepperoncini peppers, diced fine
Additional ingredients
- 4 pepper jack cheese slices
- 4 burger buns

Beef patties
- Add the ground beef, ranch seasoning, and black pepper to a bowl. Gently mix everything together until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat, which can make the burgers tough.
- Divide the beef into equal portions and form into burger patties. Make the patties slightly wider than your buns because they will shrink as they cook.
Pan-Fry
- Heat a large, non-stick skillet over medium to medium-high heat and cook the patties until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Add the pepper jack cheese to melt during the last few minutes of cooking.
Grilling
- Cook the patties over your preferred grill temperature until they reach your desired doneness, adding the pepper jack cheese toward the end so it has time to melt.
Optional toast buns
- Lightly toast buns on the inside of each half. Toasting helps prevent the buns from becoming soggy.
Assemble burgers
- Add a generous amount of creamy sauce to the inside of each bun half. Add cooked patty with melted cheese, and top with fresh arugula. Enjoy right away!
