This Ranch Slow Cooker Chex Mix is a fun, easy, and flavor-packed snack that’s perfect for every occasion It’s one of those simple recipes that you’ll want to make again and again (and everyone will ask for the recipe!).

Like most Chex Mix recipes, you can easily customize the ingredients to match your taste, but trust me, the ranch butter sauce is the secret you don’t want to skip. It’s the perfect blend of savory, buttery goodness with that tangy ranch flavor fans loves.

The slow cooker is also a great option. It gently toasts the ingredients without burning and frees up the oven for other dishes (hello, holiday baking!). The best part? Your kitchen will smell amazing while it works its magic.

  • Cheez-it crackers for rich cheddar flavor.
  • Pretzels are a classic party mix ingredient.

  • Ranch butter sauce– Butter, Worcestershire, and ranch seasoning mix.

Simple to make right in the slow cooker

  • Combine crunchy ingredients in a large slow cooker.
  • Melt the butter then stir in Worcestershire and ranch mix.
  • Pour ranch butter sauce over crunchy ingredients and toss well to combine.
  • Slow cook for 3 hours stirring every 30-45 minutes.
  • Cool on a sheet of parchment paper.

Variations and Substitutions

Make it spicy: Add ½ tsp cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the seasoning mix.

Ang’s Helpful Tips For The Best Slow Cooker Party Mix

  • To prevent sogginess use a tea towel or paper towel between the slow cooker and lid, otherwise it builds condensation that can drip on the mix.
  • Stir often to ensure the ingredients don’t burn and even coating.
  • Use the right slow cooker size for even cooking. Use a 6 qt or larger crockpot (if possible oval shape) for a bigger batch of party mix.
  • Cool completely before storing as moisture = soggy snack mix!

Equipment

  • 6 qt or larger slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 4 cups corn Chex cereal
  • 2 cups wheat Chex cereal
  • 2 cups cheez-it crackers
  • 2 cups pretzels we used the pretzel balls
  • 1 1/2 cups roasted cashews
  • 6 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (1) ounce packet ranch seasoning mix

Instructions

  • Combine all the crunchy ingredients in your slow cooker.
  • Melt butter, then stir in Worcestershire and ranch mix until combined.
  • Pour ranch butter over ingredients and toss gently with a spatula several times so it's well coated.
  • Cook on low for 3 hours, stirring every 30-45 minutes. To avoid moisture dripping on the mix, cover the slow cooker with a tea towel then place the lid on.
  • Spread mixture out on parchment paper and allow to cool at least 30-minutes before transferring to a container to store.

Notes

If you prefer a bolder ranch flavor, use another 1/2 packet of ranch seasoning mix. 
Use the right slow cooker size for even cooking. Use a 6 qt or larger crockpot (if possible oval shape) for a bigger batch of party mix.
