Slow Cooker Baked Potatoes

Make perfect Slow Cooker Baked Potatoes with just 3-simple ingredients and the push of a button. You’ll love having this option for lazy-night dinners or an easy side dish.

Fluffy, Hot, Slow Cooker Baked Potatoes

Why slow cook baked potatoes? Why not! Baked potatoes in the crockpot have never been more delicious and easy, and you don’t even need to wrap the taters in foil. Just butter, season, and plop them in your slow cooker for a simple meal or side dish.

These potatoes come out piping hot with perfectly fluffy insides. The outer skin develops a light, golden toast; just enough for a bit of texture without getting too crisp. If you’re a fan of potato skins, you won’t be able to resist the buttery, salty jacket that holds it all together.

And let’s not forget just how versatile they are; the possibilities are endless. Keep it classic with butter, salt, and pepper, or load them up with chili, melted cheese, sour cream, and green onions for the ultimate comfort food supper.

Equipment

  • 6 qt slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 4 medium size russet potatoes, scrubbed clean
  • salted butter
  • kosher or sea salt

Instructions

  • Coat each potato with butter, about 1 tsp butter per potato. Sprinkle all sides with kosher or sea salt and place in the bottom of your slow cooker trying not to overlap if possible. It's okay if they are touching.
  • Place the lid on and cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 8-10. Gently squeeze the potato. If it gives slightly and feels soft inside, it’s ready. If it’s still hard in the center, give it more time.

Notes

Storing leftovers
  • Fridge: Store cooked potatoes in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat: Microwave or air fry to reheat and revive the crispy skin.
