What You’ll Love About Breakfast Pizza:

  • It’s unique and fun to make.
  • A perfect recipe to get the family involved.
  • A fast and easy meal.
  • It’s delicious and satisfying.

I’ve been working on a video for my YouTube channel called “Breakfast for Dinner”. We love swapping out traditional dinner items for breakfast food. It’s an easy way to get dinner on the table fast and a nice change my family really enjoys.

This Breakfast Pizza was an inspiration from the famous Chef Mickey’s café in Walt Disney World. A simple egg and cheese pizza that has been popular on the menu for many years. Unlike most Breakfast Pizza recipes that are heavy on the eggs, this pizza is unique in that in only has just two eggs. This creates a nice thin layer so each bite has the perfect crust to topping ratio.

We enjoy lots of toppings on our pizza so I bumped up the volume by adding breakfast sausage and veggies. This truly feels like a balanced meal that’s filling and satisfying. My family absolutely loves this pizza and even the leftovers are fantastic.

Ingredients:

  • Breakfast sausage, ham, or bacon
  • Mushrooms
  • Green bell pepper
  • Eggs
  • Heavy cream or half & half
  • Seasoned salt
  • Shredded cheese
  • Prepared pizza crust such as Boboli
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Fresh parsley

Other toppings you might enjoy:

  • Black olive slices
  • Red onion slices
  • Fresh herbs like basil and cilantro
  • Avocado slices
  • Spinach

Make this a vegetarian Breakfast Pizza:

Skip the meat and add your favorite veggies for a fresh and light breakfast pizza. I will say if you decide to skip the breakfast meat this will taste more like a regular pizza. Not a bad thing, but if you want those classic breakfast flavors, bacon, sausage, or ham are the perfect addition.

How To Make Breakfast Pizza:

Step 1. Heat oven to 375℉. Cook breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat breaking into crumbles. Add mushrooms and peppers and cook until mushrooms are golden brown and any liquid from the pan has evaporated. Set mixture aside to cool slightly.

Step 2. In a medium size bowl whisk eggs, heavy cream, and seasoned salt. Add in cheese and meat mixture. Combine ingredients well.

Step 3. Place crust on pizza pan or large sheet pan. Spread egg mixture evenly on pre-cooked pizza crust leaving about 1-inch of space from the edge. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until egg and cheese are set and the center is cooked. Top with fresh tomatoes and parsley.

Recipe Tips:

  • Make sure to sauté any veggies you might be using to ensure there isn’t extra moisture on your pizza crust.
  • Be aware that there might be spill over when the pizza bakes in the oven. This could be because the pizza crust is too small or thin, or toppings are put too close to the edge. Placing the pizza on a sheet pan will catch any potential drips.
  • For a crispier crust, pre-bake in the oven without the toppings for 5-minutes. Add the toppings and bake per the recipe instructions.
  • Use a pre-baked pizza crust. Whether you’re using a homemade crust or a store-bought brand, make sure it’s fully cooked before adding your toppings.
  • Be careful not to overload the pizza with too many toppings. The key is to have a little bit of everything. If you’re adding other toppings you enjoy, make measurement adjustments accordingly.

Re-heat leftovers:

The best way to re-heat breakfast pizza is to put the slices in a large non-stick, dry skillet, over low-heat. This will help prevent the top from overcooking but will also crisp up the bottom. It’s like having fresh slice of pizza every time!
