Why You’ll Love Green Goddess Chicken Pasta Salad:
- A super simple pasta salad with outstanding flavor.
- This might be the BEST green goddess dressing you’ll ever taste.
- An easy salad to whip up for dinner, lunch, or even meal prep for the week.
Thankfully our cooler days are dwindling which means we get to start incorporating some of our favorite warm weather foods. This Green Goddess Chicken Pasta Salad is the perfect recipe to launch into spring and summer. The ingredients are super simple and it’s a cinch to whip up when you want something fresh and flavorful.
If you’ve never had green goddess dressing before it’s basically Caesar’s cousin. It’s creamy and tangy but with lots of fresh herb flavors. It’s the absolute best dressed over pasta and chicken, but equally a wonderful dressing to have on hand for green salads, grilled fish, and more!
Pasta Ingredients:
- Cooked chicken breast
- Cooked Bowtie pasta
- Parmesan cheese
Dressing Ingredients:
- Mayo
- Sour cream
- Milk
- Fresh herbs- basil, parsley, chives, dill
- Prepared pesto
- White wine vinegar
- Lemon juice
- Honey or agave
- Ground black pepper

Add Veggies to bulk up the nutrition:
There are so many options for veggies here. Some of my favorites are asparagus, peas, broccoli, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I like to blanch the firmer veggies in boiling water for 1-2 minutes to soften them slightly before adding them to the salad.
Chicken options:
The green goddess dressing is really what drives all the flavor in this pasta salad recipe so there are a lot of options for the type of chicken you use. For this recipe I used slow cooker chicken breast seasoned with Italian dressing. You could also use grilled chicken, leftover chicken, and even a rotisserie from the grocery store would work great.
How to make Green Goddess Chicken Pasta Salad:
Step 1. Add all the dressing ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if it’s too thick.
Step 2. In a large serving bowl add cooked pasta and chicken. Pour over the dressing and toss to coat well. Add parmesan cheese and give it another toss. Serve immediately or place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Can I make this ahead of time?
You can definitely make this in advance and it’s great for leftovers. For a super creamy pasta salad experience you’ll want to serve this right away.
