What You’ll Love About One-Pot Cheeseburger Pasta

  • A fast and easy 30-minute meal in one-pan so that means less dishes.
  • Family friendly dinner that’s fun to make and serve. Kiddos will love this one.
  • The perfect meal plan recipe for busy weeknights.

Talk about a unique way to enjoy cheeseburger flavors, right? Saucy pasta and beef topped with cheese, lettuce, pickles and onions. I hope it sounds just different enough, but not too out there to try, because this truly is a fantastically delicious meal that I think you’re really going to enjoy. I guess you could call this a duped version of boxed hamburger helper only on a whole different level. There is nothing fake about this meal. Simple ingredients. Lots of flavor.

We love our One-Pot meals and I’m excited to add this Cheeseburger Pasta to our weekly rotation. It’s easy comfort food but it’s also a little different. I’m always on the hunt for new recipes to change up the weekday menu and this one fits the bill for sure!

Ingredients:

  • Ground beef
  • Yellow onion
  • Steak seasoning
  • Salt and pepper
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Canned diced tomatoes
  • Chicken stock
  • Mayo
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Spiral pasta
  • Cheese

Toppings:

  • Lettuce
  • Dill pickles
  • Red onion

Can I use something other than mayo?

Absolutely! Sour cream is a great alternative if you don’t want to use mayonnaise. Although, I only use 2 tablespoons and it’s kind of the secret ingredient that gives the pasta a classic burger sauce flavor.

Don’t skip the toppings!

The toppings are an absolute must in my opinion. It’s really what drives home the cheeseburger flavors. Plus they add great texture and freshness to the creamy pasta. It’s fun to set out all your favorite burger toppings and let everyone add what they love.

Other Toppings You Might Enjoy:

  • Crispy bacon crumbles
  • Fresh avocado
  • Tomatoes

How to make One-Pot Cheeseburger Pasta:

Step 1. Heat a large skillet to medium heat. One with a fitted lid. Cook ground beef and onions. Add seasonings, ketchup, mustard, mayo, Worcestershire, canned tomatoes, chicken stock, and noodles. Bring to a medium boil then turn heat down to low and place the lid on. Cook until pasta is tender stirring occasionally.

Step 2. Once pasta is tender and most of the liquid has evaporated stir in some cheese. Top with more cheese and allow it to melt. Serve and top with your favorite burger toppings.

Recipe Tips:

  • Use a non-stick skillet so the pasta doesn’t stick to the pan. The pasta will release a lot of starch while it cooks causing it to stick to the pan. A non-stick skillet really helps prevent this.
  • Make sure the heat isn’t too high when cooking the pasta. You want to make sure and maintain a medium low simmer while cooking the pasta. This will ensure the liquid doesn’t evaporate before the pasta is cooked.

Made this tonight. It was excellent! Tip: Costco sells peeled/cut up avocado in the freezer section which is handy for moments like this, as you always have “fresh” avocado on hand that hasn’t turned brown.
